Authentication Details

RubyKaigi 2023 Wi-Fi uses WPA2 Enterprise (802.1X PEAP/TTLS) to provide per-client encryption key and authenticity.

Use the following parameters when required, especially on Android and Linux:

  • SSID: RubyKaigi 2023
  • Security: WPA2 Enterprise
  • Phase 2: MSCHAPv2
  • CA Certificate: Use system certificates (or choose ISRG Root X1)
  • Online certificate status: Do not verify
  • Domain: radius.rubykaigi.net
  • Username/Identity: rubykaigi
  • Password: matsumoto

Note: macOS and iOS fail to connect when our certificate not marked to always trust.

Authentication Server operates using a certificate with the following fingerprint:

  • SHA256: A5:62:67:18:9D:F6:08:F9:0C:44:44:BA:D2:A8:09:D5:EA:5C:50:22:BC:06:7D:0D:8F:84:6D:8F:5C:00:14:67

As a last resort option (for clients w/o 802.1X or 5 GHz), "RubyKaigi 2023 Legacy" SSID is also available with the same password. It does not provide strong security; authenticity and per-client encryption.

RubyKaigi 2023 Wi-Fi runs the following experiments; Enjoy!

  • 802.1X for authenticity and per-client encryption
  • DNS over HTTPS/TLS and autodiscovery using draft-ietf-add-ddr-10

Lunch options

Both Food voucher and Bento boxes are available. We encourage all attendees to go out for lunch to have local food. Bento boxes are limited because there's no enough space in the venue.

3 food vouchers are given per attendee upon check-in. It can be redeemed at the coorporating restaurants anytime on May 11, 12 and 13, so you may save it for dinner!

Allergy Warning: Matsumoto is famous for soba noodles, and we'd definitely recommend to have it. However it's worth to mention that soba (buckwheat) is a food allergen. If you haven't had soba before, please be aware of it especially if you have any food allergy.
